This is for any photographer who wants to get a bit more comfortable using strobes for interior shoots. Anyone who already uses strobes will gain insight into new ways of looking at lighting from a more controlled point of view, and if you are new to strobes this will teach the basics on how to get started and feel comfortable using lighting in any situation.
It leans more to the advanced beginner to established interior or real estate shooter looking to gain insight on how to shape and control lighting for designer shoots, or higher end real estate. Or any photographer who is unsure about when or where to use lighting and how to maximize its effect in an image.
This course focuses on my genre of photography, which is primarily for Interior Designers. The concepts and use of light for Interior Design are different than both real estate and architectural photography. There is a lot more freedom to create a look with lighting for Designers and explore shaping the light to create that look. We have more time to set the lighting up, use more modifiers, and really tweak it to work for each shot.
Seven hours worth of content stored in your own portal to watch at your leisure. Plus, 6+ hours of additional recordings from guest speakers and roundtable recordings.
I will be shooting tethered to Capture One Pro during the tutorials, and there will be a quick overview on how I use Capture One in the introduction modules. I will also show briefly how I work on some of the images in Photoshop but this is not a Photoshop course. I’m sure many of you already have a Photoshop workflow and this course will show you more about creating a better set of images to work with that will speed up your post production.
Our in-person workshops are small groups of photographers that spend 3 days together observing Stephen teach his techniques and practicing hands-on with him coaching through setups. The concepts are the same but just not as in depth as a 3 day workshop where we are working on more shots and there is a lot of back and forth between myself and the students. I do include two modules that were filmed at workshops to help you see what we do in a group setting.
There is also a valuable community that has come from our in-person workshops that will be open for you to join. Our community stays connected through our private group and industry events. The course is still valuable for our workshop alum to review foundational techniques taught.
We encourage you to utilize our private group of hundreds of interior photographers, currently on Facebook, which is for workshop alumni. Stephen and Kristen moderate and we also like to hold community roundtables to share more education.
